About the Teacher
My name is Mrs. Kayla Gonzales. I have been teaching in the Southwest School District for five years and love being a part of such a close community. I taught third grade for two years and this will be my third year teaching fourth grade. I graduated from high school at Southside High School in San Antonio, Texas. I chose to go to college at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas and graduated with my Bachelors in Elemenatry Education in 2009. I have worked with all types of children from every background imaginable and enjoy every second I am with my students. I firmly belive that EVERY child CAN achieve any goal they set with a little hard work and support.
On a personal note, I am married and my husband, Tim, and I have two (four legged) children named Matthews and Maggie. Matthews is a big Basset hound and Maggie is a very spoiled Bichon Frise. I love to sing and, as many of my former students may tell you, do so quite often in the classroom.
I look forward to getting to know you this year.
